Celebrated as one of the outstanding harpsichordists of his generation, Cristiano Gaudio gained international recognition through his successes at the Bruges International Harpsichord Competition, the Leipzig Bach Competition, and the Milan Harpsichord Competition.

As a soloist, Gaudio has performed at festivals and concert halls including the Utrecht Early Music Festival, Festival de La Roque d’Anthéron, Urbino Early Music Festival, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Baroque en Rio in Rio de Janeiro, and has contributed to the Scarlatti 555 project by Radio France. His concert activity has taken him to major stages such as the Berliner Philharmonie, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, BOZAR in Brussels, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Real in Madrid, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Salle Cortot in Paris, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Arsenal de Metz, Seoul Arts Center, Opéra Royal de Versailles, NFM in Wrocław, KKL Luzern, Helsinki Music Centre, and the Opéra Grand Avignon. His playing combines stylistic clarity with an expressive rhetoric informed by historical performance practice and shaped by a distinctly personal musical voice.

Cristiano Gaudio collaborates regularly with some of today’s most influential baroque ensembles, including Il Giardino Armonico (Giovanni Antonini), Les Talens Lyriques (Christophe Rousset), Il Pomo d’Oro (Francesco Corti), Les Musiciens du Louvre (Marc Minkowski), Le Concert de la Loge (Julien Chauvin), and Ensemble La Révérence (Christophe Coin).

He has recorded for Naïve – Vivaldi Edition and Outhere Music. His debut solo album, Händel vs Scarlatti, released by L’Encelade, was met with unanimous critical acclaim and awarded the Diapason d’Or, Choc de Classica, Amadeus d’Oro. A second solo album, entirely devoted to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, is set for release in 2026.

Born in 1995 in Bassano del Grappa (Italy), he began his harpsichord training with Lia Levi Minzi and studied later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris with Olivier Baumont and Blandine Rannou, and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he refined his understanding of historical performance practice with Francesco Corti and Jörg-Andreas Bötticher. Encounters with artists such as Christophe Rousset, Skip Sempé, Enrico Baiano and Emilia Fadini have further shaped his artistic identity.

Cristiano Gaudio taught harpsichord at the “G. Donizetti” Conservatory in Bergamo (2021–2023) and currently serves as professor of harpsichord at the “A. Corelli” Conservatory in Messina.
