Through performances at leading venues, critically acclaimed recordings and distinctions at the Bruges International Harpsichord Competition, the Leipzig Bach Competition and the Milan Harpsichord Competition, Cristiano Gaudio has established an increasingly prominent presence on the international early music scene.

Born in 1995 in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, Cristiano Gaudio studied harpsichord with Lia Levi Minzi before pursuing advanced studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris with Olivier Baumont and Blandine Rannou, and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he further developed his approach to historical performance practice under the guidance of Francesco Corti and Jörg-Andreas Bötticher. Encounters with musicians such as Christophe Rousset, Skip Sempé, Enrico Baiano and Emilia Fadini have also played an important role in shaping his artistic outlook.

As a soloist, he has appeared at festivals including the Utrecht Early Music Festival, the Festival International de Piano de La Roque d’Anthéron, Urbino Musica Antica, Baroque en Rio and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and was invited to participate in Radio France’s celebrated Scarlatti 555 project.

His performances have brought him to some of Europe’s and Asia’s leading concert halls, among them the Berliner Philharmonie, Teatro alla Scala, Concertgebouw, BOZAR, Palau de la Música Catalana, Elbphilharmonie, Teatro Real, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Opéra Royal de Versailles, KKL Luzern and the Seoul Arts Center.

Alongside his solo activity, Gaudio collaborates regularly with many of today’s foremost period-instrument ensembles, including Il Giardino Armonico, Les Talens Lyriques, Il Pomo d’Oro, Les Musiciens du Louvre, Le Concert de la Loge and Ensemble La Révérence, working with conductors including Giovanni Antonini, Christophe Rousset, Francesco Corti, Marc Minkowski, Julien Chauvin and Christophe Coin.

His discography includes recordings for Naïve’s Vivaldi Edition and Outhere Music. His debut solo album, Händel vs Scarlatti (L’Encelade), was met with unanimous critical acclaim and received distinctions including the Diapason d’Or, Choc de Classica and Amadeus d’Oro. Released by Arcana in 2026, his second solo recording, Bach on the Edge, is devoted entirely to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.

After teaching harpsichord at the “G. Donizetti” Conservatory of Bergamo, he was appointed Professor of Harpsichord at the “A. Corelli” Conservatory of Messina.
